Leadership in Biodiversity Impact Reduction award is presented to Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited in recognition of their excellent practices in protecting, restoring and reducing the impact on biodiversity and initiatives for rehabilitation and resettlement programs. 

The company’s achievements are as under:

1. Their initiative to lay a 21 km long gas pipeline underground, to protect the Golai-Powai Elephant Corridor by reducing land utilisation and enabling swift restoration. 
2. They have banned single-use of plastics from the operating sites.
3. Their promotion of the use of bamboo, especially from Assam.
